Sharp HealthCare is a not-for-profit integrated regional health care delivery system located in San Diego. Sharp includes four acute-care hospitals, three specialty hospitals, two affiliated medical groups and a health plan. Sharp operates 2,100 beds, has approximately 2,600 physicians on medical staffs, more than 1,000 physicians in affiliated medical groups and more than 16,000 employees. ==Awards== In November 2007, Sharp HealthCare was awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award by the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology. Sharp was one of five organizations to receive the award, which is the nation’s highest Presidential honor for quality and organizational performance excellence. Sharp was the first health care provider in California and the eighth in the nation to receive this recognition.
